The owners bought this property in Beckenham with a complete renovation in mind, including a substantial internal remodelling comprising 2 storey rear and side extension, a new loft design covering the entire width of the property and the addition of a swimming pool in the garden.
Croft love a challenge and whilst sweeping curves and large open-plan spaces look amazing, these lines hide the complexity of the structural gymnastics taking place behind. Torsion analysis was carried out to deal with the curvature of the lintels to be inserted in the external curved walls.
Croft’s vast experience of working with different materials coupled with the use of our modern design software, enabled us to design the concrete floors meeting the stringent limits of tolerance to vibration and deflection. The areas of floor made of timber were also strengthened to follow the same criteria used for the concrete floors.
This project is nearly complete and just undergoing the last stages of a high-spec fitout.
