A full refurbishment with ground floor side extension and large loft conversion in the ‘toast rack’ area off Wandsworth Common.
This building, being at the end of a terrace, was suffering from bowing walls and cracking throughout. We used our expert knowledge of Victorian buildings and movement issues to provide a series of repair and tying details which allowed the walls to carry more load than they had originally, without any further movement occurring.
The building also had a new basement level constructed under the full footprint, with an impressive wine cellar taking the overall depth to almost 6 metres below ground level.
