Large or small, Croft Structural Engineers completes surveys of different sizes. This property in Beckenham had a small external balcony built of clinker concrete and supported of cast iron.
Over the years water had impregnated the concrete and caused corrosion to the cast iron under. Cast iron tends to delaminate, forming flakes that fall off. When built into concrete the flakes blow the concrete off.
Croft Structural Engineers surveyed the balcony and provided repair details. Short site visits were also competed to help the contractor determine how much structure had to be removed.
