Residential Development -
Cornwall Gardens Kensington SW7
Our client had purchased an old mews building that had over the years been renovated.
Our services covered the repair and renovation of the structure. There were several dangerous elements. The floors within the building were at the end of their design life, and as the pictures show several had split and were sagging. Victorian floors use details that allow damp to attack the joist ends leading to rot. A survey was completed to determine the repair works needed.
Externally the property indicated that movement was present. Our experience told us that this is uncommon on the river terrace gravels found in the area. Once the scaffold was constructed, further investigation showed that the render was not only in poor condition; but that it had blown and required replacement.
The works were lead by a fine architect practice, Tessuto Architects. They won kitchen designer of the year 2009.
