Rear Extension Farleigh Road, Warlingham CR6
The proposal was to enlarge the kitchen by extending into the garden with a glass box. Structurally we detailed the steelwork for the opening between the two rooms. It is hidden away within the ceiling. The structure for the supporting of the glass was kept to a minimum producing a striking effect.
Every property has its own uniqueness. The construction dated from around 1880 a time when solid masonry walls were built. This building was years ahead of its neighbours, it was constructed of cavity walls. It is one of the earliest examples of cavity walls the practice has come across.
