Georgian Basement & Side Extension
This substantial grade II listed property is built in Hampstead. The client required more space and MG Architects provided a very sympathetic side extension. A basement was constructed under the new extension that linked into the existing lower ground floor.
Croft Structural Engineers Ltd completed a survey work, then designed and detailed the structural alterations as requested.
We worked with the adjacent Party Wall Surveyor to come to an agreement on how to proceed on the basement.
The client decided to project manage the work himself, and run the project. Quickly he found he was out of his depth with the structural elements. We helped him through the more detailed and dangerous elements of the work.
As can be seen the final extension was a success.
