Fulham Rd SW6 - Commercial Development
Prior to purchase, a long standing client, asked our opinion on a property on Fulham Road that they were considering. A Chartered Engineer from Croft visited and completed an inspection of the property.
From the survey it was clear that the flank wall of the property had a considerable lean and required rebuilding. Also the internal supporting walls at some point had been removed. The internal floors were sagging and at risk of collapse.
With the correct advice such properties should not be feared. Croft provided the client with confidence of how to tackle the building and the level of works required. In this instance demolition was the only option.
Croft's drawings covered the rebuilding works and also the temporary propping. The terrace was so unstable that there was concern that the adjacent building may move during the works. To prevent this a steel frame was constructed against the building. This frame had to be co-ordinated since it could only be removed once the structure had been built around it!
The works also included lowering the basement and underpinning.
