Edwardian Side Extension,
Chertsey, Twickenham, Middlesex TW1
This project required a complete removal of the side of the property to allow for the extension from 4 to 7 bedrooms. The flank wall was removed and the new construction completed.
Foundations were the difficulty on this project. A Thames water main sewer ran 3m deep under the proposed Edwardian extension. The foundations had to be designed to prevent loading of the sewer and also span the new loads away from the sewer.
Croft Structural Engineers played a pivotal role in dealing with Thames Water and complying with their build over notices.
