Olympic Park 2012 - Stratford Kiosk
Architecture Foundation's Competition
Croft helped Tsuruta Architects Ltd develop a design for a kiosks in Meridian Square, Stratford – the gateway to the London 2012 Olympic Park.
The kiosk had to be built for £200,000 and be temporary. Croft Structural Engineers has build up a detailed knowledge of SIP (Structural Insulated Panels). We used this knowledge to provide a lightweight structure that was easily constructed and cheap to make.
Competition was high including over 90 entries from places as diverse as Chile, Finland and Nigeria. The five shortlisted practices were not only British, but based in London. Although not shortlisted, we were very pleased to beat off stiff International competition making the top 10 long list.
