A substantial redevelopment of an existing three storey Victorian property, comprising a new extension on site, loft conversion and basement.
Structurally the new basement development was the most challenging. The construction achieving an open space of 100m². A methodical approach to place the new structure with minimum disturbance to the main existing building was the main concern. Croft Structural Engineers designed and proposed the temporary work solutions required, allowing the safe excavation and casting of the new basement, minimizing the cracking of the masonry above.
