The client had already appointed a structural engineer for the works. Due to our extensive basement expertise Croft were called in to complete the basement design.
The basement was formed under a block of flats. Five storeys were present above and each flat was worth over £1.2 million. Any damage or movement to the foundations would result in a very expensive repair bill.
Having completed a similar project a road away Croft had both the experience and expertise the client was looking for.
The basement design was completed and approved by the council, the party wall surveyors and also the free holder's checking engineer. Numerous hoops had to be jumped through, but that is part of constructing these types of works.
Currently the basement is under construction.
