A small and wonderfully designed home. A standard Victorian terrace property was converted into a modern open plan home. Croft has its roots in alterations to these small, Historic buildings and this project brought our skill and expertise to the forefront.

The Architect expressed this structure as ‘Get your kit off!’ The steelworks on the ground floor kitchen were left exposed. Columns beams and connections were on show for all to see. A style that is often seen in commercial buildings in central London, we are noticing this trend coming into fashion for Domestic clients.

To keep the design team small Croft Structural Engineers acted as Party Wall Surveyors on this project. We issued Notices, completed condition surveys, worked with the adjacent surveyors and published the Awards on this project. While the practice does not publicise its party wall work, on a small project there are advantages of using Croft.

Ed Bennett the Architect on this project and known by all the team at Croft Structural Engineers, sadly, was killed in a tragic road incident early this year. We will all miss his humour and northern soul!
