Croft is keen to respond to specific client requirements and allows for tailoring of reports to meet individual needs. Reports range from small single element assessments covering anything from a cracked bay to full property reports where all building elements are visually inspected. Commercial projects with full investigation & testing are also undertaken. The large percentage of our work is renovations and alterations, with reports covering a small part of our turnover. We therefore can take knowledge and expertise gained from the projects completed to provide structural repair solutions in reports. A fast effective turn-around of a solution to a property's needs is vital during a sale. Croft has considerable expertise, specialist skills, and unequalled local experience in dealing with residential properties of all ages and sizes. |

Renovation and refurbishment work often requires handling of old materials, the quality of which is frequently unknown. Testing is therefore vital in order to check the current condition and assess the dilapidation of the base material. Concrete deteriorates by a variety of mechanisms, many of which are chemical and invisible to the naked eye until it is too late. By extracting portions of the base materials, laboratory testing can highlight such problems earlier in order to allow remedial action to be taken. |

Often Croft Structural Engineers are called in at short notice to inspect dangerous structures. One such call came from a pensioner on Glenburie Rd Balham. Brick work had fallen. On inspection the Victorian roof had completed failed, with all the rafters shearing along the ridge line. Safety measures were put into place and designs quickly drawn up.
